Medicare help next door to Port Orange
Port Orange neighbors know us as HealthBrokerFL; the agency name is USA Benefits Group, and we are not tied to any single insurer. Nobody here pushes a plan. We put Medigap, Medicare Advantage and stand-alone drug coverage in front of you, and the decision stays yours. Because we hold appointments with every Medicare carrier selling plans locally, each option is run against your ZIP, your physicians and your medication list.
Port Orange is our closest neighbor, so many clients simply stop by our South Daytona office. We see a lot of Port Orange folks who are turning 65 while still working, retirees who just moved down, and couples who want to review their plans together each fall. If driving is a hassle, a home visit or phone call works just as well.
We also help folks in Spruce Creek Fly-In and the Port Orange 55+ communities, where a lot of neighbors are comparing notes on the same plans every fall.
What Port Orange clients ask for most
A lot of my Port Orange clients are looking to save on their Part B premium. Some Medicare Advantage plans include a Part B giveback, and for 2026 the largest givebacks can return up to the full standard Part B premium of $202.90 a month. Giveback amounts change for 2027 and vary by plan and county, so we check what is actually available at your address.
Snowbirds and new Port Orange residents
We see a lot of snowbirds here. The most common problem is an HMO from up north. Outside its service area an HMO generally covers only emergency care, urgent care and out-of-area dialysis, so routine care here in Port Orange is not covered. A PPO or a Medicare Supplement travels much better.
If you just moved to Port Orange, moving out of your old plan’s service area gives you a Special Enrollment Period to pick a Florida plan. In my experience, Volusia plans often have better benefits than plans up north, so moving your coverage here can get you better benefits and save you money.

Health care and senior resources in Port Orange
Port Orange City Hall is less than 4 miles from our office, about an 8 minute drive, which makes Port Orange the town we see in person most often.
Halifax Health Medical Center of Port Orange at 1041 Dunlawton Avenue is an 80 bed community hospital with a 24 hour emergency department, and Halifax Health also runs an ExpressCare on South Williamson Boulevard. If you prefer AdventHealth doctors instead, that changes which plans fit, so we start with your providers.
Port Orange clients often ask us to keep doctors like Dr. Haroldo Melo, Dr. Dianet Falcon, Dr. Samira Karakossian, Dr. Harison Parra, Dr. Hassan Alkhatib, Dr. Roy Lemaster and Dr. Christian Kovats. Other well-reviewed primary care doctors in town include Dr. Laura Duren. We do not assume any doctor takes a certain plan. Bring your doctor list and we will check whether each one is in network on any plan before you choose.
For prescriptions, Port Orange clients use Port Orange Pharmacy, a local pharmacy with great people and service, along with Publix, Walgreens and CVS. Your pharmacy can change what you pay for the same drug, so we check it on every plan.
The city’s Adult Activity Center at 4790 S. Ridgewood Avenue is free for residents 55 and older, with pickleball, shuffleboard, bocce and club meetings. Many of our Port Orange clients first hear about Medicare questions from friends there.
Prefer to learn in a group? We host free Medicare seminars at Houligan’s, 1725 W International Speedway Blvd in Daytona Beach, in February, April, June and August. We pause seminars during the fall Annual Enrollment Period so we can focus on client reviews. The next Daytona Beach seminar is Thursday, February 25, 2027 at 6:30 PM. Reserve your seat for the next free seminar.
Port Orange reviews can cover Medicare Supplement policies, Medicare Advantage plans or a stand-alone Part D drug plan, drawn from the insurance companies we work with.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Medicare agent near me in Port Orange?
Yes. USA Benefits Group (HealthBrokerFL) is at 913 Big Tree Road in South Daytona, about 8 minutes from Port Orange City Hall. We meet at our office, at your home, by phone or by video, and our help is free. Call 386-401-5644.
Can I get a Part B giveback plan in Port Orange?
Some Medicare Advantage plans in Volusia County include a Part B giveback. For 2026 the largest givebacks can return up to the full standard Part B premium of $202.90 a month. Amounts change for 2027 and vary by plan, so we check what is available at your address.
I am a snowbird with an HMO from up north. Will it work in Port Orange?
Usually only for emergency care, urgent care and out-of-area dialysis. Routine care outside an HMO’s service area is generally not covered. A PPO or a Medicare Supplement usually works better if you split your time between states.
I just moved to Port Orange. Can I change my Medicare plan?
Yes. Moving out of your plan’s service area gives you a Special Enrollment Period to choose a new plan. Volusia plans often have better benefits than plans in other states, so it is worth comparing.
Can you check if my Port Orange doctor is in network?
Yes. Bring your doctor and pharmacy list and we will check each one against every plan we show you before you enroll.
Does it cost more to enroll through a broker?
No. Brokers are paid by the insurance company, not the client. Your premium is the same whether you enroll through us, with the carrier directly, or on Medicare.gov.
My plan sent a letter about 2027 changes. What should I do?
Plans send an Annual Notice of Change each fall. Bring it to a free review. We will check whether your doctors, drugs, and costs still work for 2027 and compare other plans before the Annual Enrollment Period ends on December 7.
Do you only offer one insurance company?
No. We are an independent broker appointed with every Medicare carrier and plan accessible in the area, so we can compare available options.
Is Halifax Health Medical Center of Port Orange in network?
It depends on the plan, and networks can change each year. Before you enroll, we confirm the hospital on Dunlawton Avenue, your doctors and your pharmacy against every plan we show you.
