Local, independent Medicare help for DeLand

USA Benefits Group, also known as HealthBrokerFL, is an unbiased, independent insurance broker based in South Daytona. As an independent agency, we present options to you. You make the choices. We compare Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), and Part D drug plans. We are licensed and appointed with every Medicare carrier and plan accessible in the area, and we check each one against your ZIP code, your doctors, and your prescriptions.

DeLand is on the west side of Volusia County, so most of our DeLand clients prefer to start by phone or video and meet in person when it helps. We are glad to come to your home, and you are always welcome at our South Daytona office. Whether you are new to Medicare or reviewing a plan you have had for years, the process is the same: we listen first, then compare.

Your review is with a licensed agent on our team: Nathan Curry, Catherine Curry, Lindsay Lazrovitch, or Raymond Steadman. Meet the team.

Who this is for

  • Turning 65. Your Initial Enrollment Period is usually the 3 months before your birthday month, that month, and the 3 months after. We help you time Part B and choose a plan.
  • Deciding between Medigap and Medicare Advantage. Medigap works with Original Medicare for more predictable costs. Medicare Advantage is a private plan, often with a network and extras like dental and vision. Switching later can be harder, so we explain the tradeoffs first.
  • Checking Part D drug coverage. We run your actual medications through each plan.
  • Reviewing 2027 plan changes. Plans mail an Annual Notice of Change each fall. The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 to December 7, 2026, and changes start January 1, 2027.
  • Your plan is leaving your county. You will get a letter and a chance to choose new coverage. Call us early so you are not rushed.

Free help from us, and free help from SHINE

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is Florida’s free, unbiased Medicare counseling program, reachable at 1-800-963-5337. It is a good resource.

We are free to you too. Brokers are paid by the insurance companies, not by the client, and your premium is the same either way. What we add is a licensed agent who compares many carriers, handles the enrollment with you, and stays a local phone call away.

Frequently asked questions

Who gives free help comparing Medicare plans near DeLand?

USA Benefits Group, an independent Volusia County broker, compares Medicare plans for DeLand residents at no cost and meets by phone, video, or at your home. SHINE, the state’s free Medicare counseling program, is another free option at 1-800-963-5337.

Do I have to drive to South Daytona?

No. Most DeLand clients start with a phone or video review. We can also meet at your home, and you are welcome at our South Daytona office any time you prefer to meet in person.

What is the difference between SHINE and a broker?

Both are free to you. SHINE uses trained counselors through the state. A broker like us is a licensed agent paid by the insurance company when you enroll, and we can compare plans from many carriers, complete your enrollment, and help you again next year.

My Medicare Advantage plan is leaving my county for 2027. What now?

You should get a letter from your plan. You will have a chance to pick new coverage, and in some cases you get a guaranteed right to buy certain Medigap plans. Call us soon so we can compare replacement plans before your current one ends.

Do I need a separate Part D drug plan?

If you choose Original Medicare with a Medigap plan, you usually add a separate Part D plan. Most Medicare Advantage plans include drug coverage. We check your full medication list against each plan so there are no surprises at the pharmacy.
